Chicago 36.7 Member's Heroic Act

When a wicked storm came through the Chicago area on Wednesday, May 11, 36.7 owner George Quinlan and others assisted in the rescue of three fellow sailors.  George and Andrea Krasinski coordinated the treatment of the three men onshore until ambulances arrived.  The three men are reported to have been in the water for up to 50 minutes.  We are happy to report are three men are expected to make a full recovery.  The full story can be found in the Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club Newsletter.  Another example of the extraordinary fleet members the Lake Michigan 36.7 Fleet has.

Lou Sandoval is US Sailing's Sailor of the Week!

Congratulations to Lou Sandoval who is this week's US Sailing Sailor of the Week! Lou has been a staple in the Chicago Fleet both as a Beneteau Dealer and as part owner of Karma, a competitive First 36.7.  In the early days of the Chicago Fleet Lou played an instrumental role in organizing the fleet, one-design events and fleet gatherings.  Lou continues to support the fleet and sailing in Chicago as a member of many committees, including Chicago Yacht Club's Race to Mackinac

Lou is a great friend and competitor, please congratulate him the next time you see him walking the docks!
