Passing of 36.7 Owner Tom Orlow

We are very sad to report the passing of 36.7 owner Tom Orlow.  Fleet President Bob Foley had the following to say:

"I am sending this message to you to inform you of the tragic loss of one
of our most esteemed Beneteau 36.7 owners of the boat Northern Light. I
have met Tom many times and was honored to be in his presence. He was a
staple at Miami University as a professor and instructive in their
sailing program. In the Harbor Springs area, Tom and his wife spent
countless years training and developing new top notch sailors. Tom had a
stroke and unfortunately died and was not able to be woken up. I am
sending this to you in the hope that you could send a message to the
various individual competitors."

Chicago NOOD Regatta Has Come and Gone

The Chicago NOOD Regatta was filled with fog, very cold temperatures, wind conditions all over the board and sloppy seas. The Beneteau 36.7 section had 14 boats competing in the three day regatta where the Chicago Yacht Club race committee was able to get off seven races.  Tried & True had a very successful regatta winning three of the seven races and having only 13 total points in the regatta well ahead of the second place boat Stingray who had 22 total points.  The overall top three boats each won at least one race keeping their overall point total low.  Full results from the Chicago NOOD Regatta can be found at Sailing World.

Tried & True - 1st Place
